She was called by a great variety of names. On the four census records, she
was called Martha, Mercia, Mercy Ann and Mercy. As parent on the marriage
records of six of her children, she was called Martha, Mary, Mary Ann and
Mercy. In the book above and her death registration, she was called Martha.
